How many of us are designers? Again, how many of us are truly conversant with html, xml or whatever it is that is used in designing of websites?
Many of us, including myself, are truly ignorant when it comes to matters like these. Hence, we depend on software that does what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG) and hopefully from there we can get some decent designs. But to get a sophisticated site out is not an easy task. Take a look at my first site http://www.vikingbar.net and you can see that it is truly a simple site with no whistles and bells.
But if we want to get a site which will draw customers to it and make customers stay with it, we need a lot of pulling power. This requires the skills of languague - to play with the minds of the readers, to entice them to want to know more, to make them feel that they are going to get something that they have been looking for all these years. In short, what is truly required is a good copywriting skill. And that is even harder than a designing skill.
In my next post, I will give you some sites on where you can get FREE websites and almost next to nothing for learning about internet marketing.
Cheers
